I do remember little clip on ties - but that was more the general rule/convention that you 'dressed' to go to church ("What, you plan on showing up in your GD work boots and overalls?!" "Why the hell bother ..!".) - and I don't recall that Easter was singled out for special gear.
But then again - boys - and clothes didn't really clock real high on the radar of importance - or notice. Now perhaps a new pair of tennis shoes ..!
In fact - pretty sure Easter was much more about fun (and whatever chocolate we could squeeze out of the event) - Easter baskets and hidden treats (that Easter bunny was a heck of a good hider!) - and pretty light on the church and religion in our household. And that probably starts us off in the direction of another discussion ...
