In reply to the discussion: who else loves opossums? [View all]littlemissmartypants
(22,899 posts)30. They waddle around here frequently at night.
I love my nature habitat.
I have squirrel, racoons, hawks, a big owl, bats, snakes, lizards, frogs, foxes, rabbits, blue birds, mockingbirds, cardinals, bob whites, wren, coyotes, lots of deer, wild turkey (that my peacock lives with now) and opossum.
I've been told that a bear was sighted on a trail cam that was set up in our pine forest at the back of my field but I've never seen it.
I live not too far from a beaver dam but it's not on my property. They're so important in wetlands management so I'm thankful for them.
I'm really thankful for all of the critters and the habit that I'm able to provide for them.

My vet runs a raptor center on the side as a nonprofit. God's work, I say.

We were sitting on the porch late one evening. One walked right in front of our feet.
