32. Moral of Story: DON'T Trust Texas Republicans!

The Texas Republican Party is so beholden to the Religious Right and the anti-abortion fanatics that they have to do what they’re told—or get thrown out of office. Judging by the news, it isn’t just the “moderate” anti-abortion fanatics who are calling the shots in the anti-abortion movement, but the crazed fanatics who want to not only ban abortion, but ALL birth control, then jail women for having abortion or even trying to access it.

The only way to put an end to the spread of this malign idiocy is to revoke the benefit of the doubt for any Texas Republican running for office. They’re willing to ban abortion, outlaw birth control, and jail women for having abortions or even birth control. And since their policies would set off a voter revolt even in apathetic and indolent Texas, they have to fudge, lie and obfuscate to the general electorate, then follow their marching orders from the extremists to the letter.

The ONLY way to deal with this crap is to assume that Republicans making moderate noises are lying, always lying. Assume they’re lying no matter what they say. Then vote them out of office.

And if Republican politicos whine about it, point out the obvious—this is the blowback from the Devil’s bargain they made with the Religious Right decades ago,
