Polls, what they mean, why they're good [View all]

At the end of this OP there is a poll but I'll get to that. Thanks to anyone who votes here and thanks especially for sharing your thoughts.

Now this is the gun group. Establishing relevance and clarifying compliance with the SOP is important me. There have been links and references to polls that say US residents favor everything stricter gun laws to bans on every semi-auto firearm. I won't go into linking to them and quoting them. I don't want to spend time and effort addressing what they do and don't really say or what some people say that they say (and in some cases know that those polls don't say what those folks say that they say.)

Here's what I say: first, asking some folks about gun laws is similar to asking certain uniformed and inexperienced trump voters if they are for or against Baba ghanoush. I happen to love Baba ghanoush but I accept the fact that many people have no idea what it is. Asking someone unfamiliar with current gun laws if they favor stricter gun laws would be like asking me if I like the current weather in Kuwait or is the current climate in Tokyo preferred. Second, this is why I support most all of the Democratic candidates because they are generally ethical, knowledgeable and moral folks. There are plenty of issues about which I have little knowledge. I trust those candidates to inform themselves on the issues when laws arise that they will vote for or against. Let's discuss the issues and, if you have a candidate in mind (either side) let's hear about him/her.
