Go to o a pet store and get a car leash. About 12 bucks. Got a clip on one end and the other clips into the seat belt slot. Cut the leash off and stick the seatbelt end into your passenger seatbelt slot. Your sensor will read it as seatbelt in use.

When you have a passenger, they can just pop it out.
