(80,708 posts)16. I would add that Obama was a very close second- Or probably a tie with Gore.
Gore represented such an important counterpoint to the entire gestalt of Bush and Cheney, and he did more to raise the profile of climate change than anyone else ever has; and really, that's one problem which makes all our other problems potentially meaningless.
But at the same time, probably nothing can compare with the excitement and hope Obama brought with him in 2008, although I would say Bill Clinton in 1992 was a similar experience.

I put Al Gore, but part of that is I REALLY wanted him to run in '04 or '08.
