1. When I lived in New York City, I got kicked off every jury I applied for
I thought it was because I'm a minority, but I was enlightened when I read a story in an advertising trade paper. A creative director who'd been dismissed from jury duty for the seventh advanced the theory: "The least desirable qualities in a juror are the ability to think creatively and the ability to lead." I was a copywriter AND magazine editor at the time!
