hey guys! i graduated this past spring with a bachelors in psychology and i want to do something with it. I am in grad. school right now and i currently work at a mental/behavioral hospital, but i want to do more. i would like to start a life coach business, but i'm not sure if my credentials are enough and if it is legal with the amount of education that i have. I want to specialize in is high school sports and self-esteem (short term/long term goals). I also have certifications in self-esteem building from my employer. i googled several keywords of life coaching, but i got nothing of value.
I realize it will be difficult to attract clients, but I have several business models to attract business and I also have connections where clients can be referred to me. And there may be a thing I might work with a friend of mine, who is a massage therapist. He has been wanting me to do holistic therapy at his business for a long time. So that may be an option, since he has a huge list of clientele.
If anyone is a life coach or know if I'm "legal" to start a business and where I should look to start it, please respond. I just need help with going in the right direction. I would ask my dean adviser, but I know he will frown upon it because the nature of life coaching isn't scientifically based.
Oh and one more thing, I live in Ohio and I have the necessary forms to start a business in the state of ohio. so i have that already. thanks!
thanks again!
