But I'm wondering, where did all the people go? The premise is that all the people have disappeared as the result of some catastrophe, but there aren't any bodies. Were they Raptured? :D

They made some claim that the longest-lasting human constructions would be the Great Wall, and Mt Rushmore. I think it will be a cache of leftover fruitcakes.

When they got to the twenty year mark, they had an actual example of a modern city (some city downwind of Chernobyl) that was abondoned overnight twenty years ago. It showed just how far and fast momma nature reclaims her shit.
Effin fascinating! Totally recommend.
