If either of them gets the nod, Harry Reid has the election in the bag:
A new poll in the Las Vegas Review-Journal today put former Assemblywoman Sharron Angle in a near dead heat with long-time front runner Sue Lowden in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate.
According to the newspaper's results, Angle is favored by 25 percent of those polled, while Lowden pulled in 30 percent. The margin of error is 4.5 percent. Las Vegas businessman Danny Tarkanian is trailing with 22 percent.
The numbers appear to confirm a substantial boost from Angle's endorsement by the national Tea Party Express, which has augmented her cash-poor campaign with television and radio advertisements. The results also confirm a long-standing fear of the Lowden campaign that Angle tends to poll deceptively low while quietly racking up support fueled by a small contingent of passionate supporters.
