15. Hollywood caters to people all the time
Edited on Mon Jan-10-05 01:55 AM by Charlie Brown
that's why we have different genres of movies like Romance, Horror, Action, etc. Religious art and filmmaking are as legitimate genres as any other. Look no further than Franco Zefferili, Federico Fellini, or Robert Duvall if you want examples of filmmakers who have infused their art with religion. There was a whole genre of Biblical Epics throughout the 1960s. How did this lead to "censorship?"

More Christians interested in film could mean a chance to encourage support of the arts (something most conservatives despise) or opportunities to expose these viewers to other points of view (like Faranheit 9/11, for example). Simply shunning potential viewers as cretins is not a good business policy. It's not very enlightened, either.

If you want to discourage any mention of religion in a forum of intellectualism, it would seem you are the one who favors censorship.
