24. People have a right to boycott
Edited on Mon Jan-10-05 02:51 AM by Charlie Brown
There are posts at this board all the time discouraging people from shopping at certain stores with Republican ties.

I've heard people here saying they will no longer support Gibson or attend one of his films (rather hypocritical if you oppose "blacklisting").

Forum for the Family, the Southern Baptists, Christian Coalition groups use very questionable tactics to oppose those they dislike, but so do the ADF, the NAACP, MOVEON.ORG, or any other "liberal" advocacy group. Indeed, Gibson ended up taking out one scene from "The Passion" at the behest of the ADF.

I don't see how you can criticize one side for pressuring filmmakers when our side is no better.

But, anyway, how does the success of the Passion or the award Mel won increase the role of conservative pressure on Hollywood?
