3. "an attack attributed to Iraqi insurgents"

every time I hear about some targeted assassination in Iraq, and I hear them invariably "attributed to Iraqi insurgents," I wonder who actually committed the crime. I'm sure almost all of them are more complicated than just the insurgents creating chaos, and I'm sure that our government knows some of the details, and I'm sure our government is actually in many of the cases the ones that are behind the murders.

Why wouldn't they, it's not like the U.S. doesn't have a stake in this thing.
