9. My concern is that with the Republican majority they can pass any

nomination that they damn please.

Some years ago Gonzales was mentioned as a possible Supreme Court nominee. I think that I'd rather have him sitting four years as a DA than on the Supreme Court for life.

(Though I suppose that even as a DA, he can always be nominated for the Supreme Court and a defense can be that "he was already nominated by the Senate once...")
