I consider myself a pretty partisan Democrat, yet I too had hope in May 2001 that Bush would succeed. And not because of my political party affiliation, but for the sake of my country and my fellow Americans. The cost of Bush failing at that point in May 2001 to me meant war, recession, high unemployment, and the weak just suffering more. Yes, I did not want to see my country to be in the position it finds itself in today either. So hang me.
