but I tend to think that our dislike of politicians is more a kind of "don't ask me to trust you" thing. It's not that we want less government, but more accountability.

It staggers me how unaccountable * and his cabinet are. NONE of them have been elected! That's what I love about our system. John Howard can be voted out by his own Sydney electorate and his career as PM is over. I like how that keeps a pollie's feet on the ground...
