My guess is many of these folks (that inherited it) only shutter them selves away when they see controversy or send out others to take care of it. They have been set up by minions whose continued employment depends on fending off all affronts or any marginalization of the status quo.

Many of the others get there trough cut throat tactics. There are very few innovators that get to make big and keep it together for very long in the US. They get killed, jailed, bankrupted or discredited and the things they invented get stolen by the Corporations and others like Bill Gates.

I don't think it will pan out for them in the long run. In fact I think many of the new innovators are the ones that are figuring out how to help make a level playing field for all of us. Maybe some of it will help enable us to short circuit them others who operate in their degenerate and uncivilized ways.

Many eyes are on these people and the more we get on them the better off we will all be.
