HONOLULU (Reuters) - After seven days of high-stakes Asian diplomacy, President Bush stopped in Hawaii on Thursday to honor Pearl Harbor survivors, catch up on the World Series and raise money for his own reelection campaign, declaring, "I'm glad to be home." snip

In the question-and-answer session that followed, Bush was stumped by student Darrel Florence, who wanted to know the White House's square-feet. Bush called it "a big place" with "many floors." snip

But there was no "mission accomplished" banner like the one on the USS Abraham Lincoln in May when Bush landed on the aircraft carrier wearing a flight suit and declared major combat operations over, only to see Iraq erupt into postwar violence.

On Thursday night, before departing for Washington, Bush was to tap donors in a state with its first Republican governor in decades, Linda Lingle. It was to be part of his drive for a record $170 million for his Republican primary campaign, in which he has no challengers.
