Some may remember that earlier this year Poppy Bush met for a second time with media mogul and Bush family friend Gustavos Cisneros (arch enemy of Hugo Chavez) at the Casa de Campo resort owned by the Fanjul brothers, Alfi and Jose, in the Dominican Republic. There were strong indications that Bush also met secretly with corruption-impeached former Venezuelan President Carlos Andres Perez.

CARACAS, Venezuela (Reuters) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is ready to meet his Dominican Republic counterpart Hipolito Mejia to end a row that halted Venezuelan oil shipments to the Caribbean state, a diplomat said Monday.

Venezuela, the world's No. 5 oil exporter, suspended the oil deliveries last month because it said a former Venezuelan president and oil traders were plotting from Santo Domingo to overthrow, and even assassinate, left-winger Chavez.

"Efforts are being made for the two presidents to meet ... very soon," Venezuela's ambassador to the country Francisco Belisario told Reuters in Caracas. "President (Chavez), as you know, is open to everything," he added.

Belisario said a meeting would depend on the agendas of the two leaders, but it could take place this month or in the first half of next month.
