Personal incomes increased 0.4% in October as expected, after rising 1.7% in September. Nominal spending increased 0.2% in October as expected. Real (inflation-adjusted) spending increased 0.1% in October, the first increase in three months. Consumer prices rose 0.1% in October after soaring 0.9% in September. The core personal consumption expenditure price index increased 0.1% in October, bringing the year-over-year increase down to 1.8%. With incomes rising faster than spending, the personal savings rate improved to negative 0.7% from negative 0.8%.I guess that means folks are just eating their houses more slowly?
