Wouldn't it be cheaper and more productive to help these people settle somewhere permanently, in decent accomodation and with accessible employment?

At least in the days of slavery most people were regularly fed, and knew they belonged somewhere. So many people these days are treated worse, and with more contempt, than even the slaves were.

The neocons are not only evil assholes, they are fools.
They are despoiling the country they live in.
Even my cat knows not to make a mess of his own home.
