My Dad ran the nation's oldest roller rink in the U.S. in Braddock Heights MD. when the GOP took power by employing movie actor Ronald Reagan and apparently some bad Hollywood script writers in an appeal to it's traditional base of bigots and other dull witted types. The KKK came out of the woodwork to hold a massive rally on the large property my Dad's roller rink was situated on.(The roller rink was the last building standing in this circa 1900 amusement park). Considerably more than 30 people too. It was about this time when a man was brought into nearby Frederick Memorial Hospital where my Mom worked as a lab tech with anthrax from Ft. Deitrick. I have always made a connection in my mind with the KKK types which was reinforced when anthrax was mailed to the far right's hit list right after "liberal" targets New York and Washington were attacked on September 11th, 2001.
I would also note that the title "National Socialists" is as misleading now as it was in the 1920s and 30s and have often heard freepers and their ilk claim that Hitler and his band of frothy mouthed speed freaks were liberal socialists. "International anti-socialists is much more appropriate. No coincidence either, I think, that Al Zarqawi's alleged targets are all those pesky "liberal" Europeans and that foreign fighters captured in Iraq include 3 Frenchmen, so "liberal" they once gave us a huge statue of miss Liberty... (Liberal means liberty and Miss Liberty is the personification of Liberty or liberal thought manifested)
