31. His past use of "Executive Privilege" .........
This funding thing is great, BUT what they need to do is to hold an energy hearing and ask for the records from Cheney's energy meetings. He didn't turn the records over under the freedom of information act request because he claimed executive privilege, and thats the legal argument that was upheld by the courts letting him keep those records secret.

Right now, we all need to start calling and emailing asking our Reps in Congress to make a request for those records. He can't keep them secret if he isn't part of the executive branch, because he can't claim executive privilege. If he keeps the records secret (the ones showing that he asked his Halliburton buddies and the heads of all the major oil companies to come to his office and set official U.S energy policy with him) then he IS part of the executive branch, and needs to be jailed for breaking the law on record keeping.

Either way, if we get someone to publicly point out that he can't keep the energy meeting records secret under executive privilege if he isn't part of the executive branch, then he is F-ed. He can't have it both ways.

He is either part of the executive branch and can keep those records secret, but that means he has broken the law in regards to record keeping, etc. Or he isn't part of the executive branch and so can't keep the records secret with executive privilege so the public needs those records released immediately, and the whole administration is f-ed when the public see's what Cheney allowed big oil to do with the US energy policy.

Seriously, we need to push THIS issue as far and as fast as possible in the next couple of days until SOMEONE publicly makes the request for the records and points out the issue.
