...but the way I see it, Shrub is not far enough removed from Grampa Prescott, either chronologically or ideologically, for this to be simply dismissed as a mistake of the past. Plus, understand exactly how horrific and unforgivable an event we're talking about here: the man helped finance the Nazi Party.

It's 1939, your grampa gets drunk, hops in his Studebaker and plows over some little girl?* OK, that's awful, shame on him, hope he was punished, but that can't be held against you... unless you're, say, a lawyer who specializes in defending DUIs. That's sort of what we have here with the Bushes. Shrub may not be a carbon copy of Hitler, but he's the closest thing to a Nazi to ever reside in the White House.

(* Not saying your grampa actually did that, of course... just a hypothetical scenario.)
