I don't know exactly how the agencies arrived at that, but the number is appalling. Many others have families that lack enough income to have basic services.
My Rotary committee awarded scholarships last week; two of the winners (twins), were from a family has not had propane (hence hot water) since last fall. These girls are good citizens and outstanding students. I can't quite wrap my mind around it. We are the Third World.
