2. The riot had nothing to do with May 4.
It happened over a week before May 4. It was a warm Saturday night in Kent. Parties were thrown. Hi-jinx occurred. Police were called. Riots ensued.

Kids today are unlikely to know anything about May 4. They probably wonder why there are memorials taking up four spots in the Taylor Hall parking lot.
