In June 2001, Candie’s launched The Candie’s Foundation, with the mission to educate America's youth about the devastating consequences of teenage pregnancy. The Foundation fuels a celebrity-driven public service announcement campaign that dramatically exposes the devastating consequences of teenage pregnancy, while educating and challenging America’s youth to make healthy decisions about sex.

Background
Neil Cole founded the Foundation in 2001 and since its’ launched The Candies Foundation has made over 500,000,000 million impressions to the teenage audience. The Foundation means a tremendous amount to him and is something that he is most proud of in his career.

Mission Statement
The mission of The Candie’s Foundation is to educate America’s youth about the devastating consequences of teen pregnancy through celebrity PSA campaigns and initiatives.

Celebrities that have participated in the campaigns include Beyonce, Ciara, Jenny McCarthy, Vanessa Minnillo, Ashley Tisdale, Hilary Duff, Ashlee Simpson, Usher, Rachel Bilson, Teddy Geiger amongst many others.

Celebrity Messages Include:

• Be Sexy: It Doesn’t Mean You Have to Have Sex
• Be Smart: Don’t Give Up Your Education
• Be Smart: You Are Too Young to Start
• Not Really the Way You Pictured Your First Crib
• Not What You Had in Mind for Your First Set of Wheels
• You Think Being in School Sucks

PSA Campaign Appearance:

• Print: All the major teen magazines Seventeen, Vibe, The Source, Blender, Teen Vogue, Elle, InStyle, Cosmopolitan, etc.
• Broadcast: All the major networks including ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, MTV, etc.
• Online: AOL, MTV, The-N, Seventeen.com, Black Planet.com, and perezhilton.com.

The Event to Prevent

Each year The Candies Foundation hosts an annual fundraising event to honor individuals that have done exceptional work for the cause and helped advance the foundation message.

Past Honorees have included Senator Hilary Clinton, Katie Couric, Paula Zahn, Governor Thomas Keen, Jane Fonda, Kim Catrall, etc. Past Performers have included Jackson Browne, Jennifer Hudson, Lionel Richie, Teddy Geiger, Jewel, Ashlee Simpson, Destiny’s Child, etc.

2008 was a record year for the Foundation, The Event to Prevent raised close to $1.5 million dollars. In all, the Foundation has raised several million dollars. The monies raised at the Events enable the Foundation to continue its work to develop and produce powerful PSA campaigns and programs.:hi: :hi:
