I don't doubt that our government had a hand in this coup but Aristide seems to simply be spinning his own cowardice into a "noble cause" hoping someone will pick up the torch and counter-coup.
He is just another ego that couldn't handle the power vested in him. Sound familiar?

There is just enough in this story to show the hand of the admin and the French. I just don't buy the kidnapping bit.
