The powerful processed foods industry has been trying to undermine the low-carb diet since the 1970's. There's a lot of profit to be made in selling high-margin cookies and crackers...very little margin in meat and eggs.
Also, the healthcare industry likes sick Americans. We are a sort of cash-crop for them.
My point is that attacks on low-carb diets are boring and predictable. Nothing is more effective or healthy.
