that shooting down AF-1 with a surface-air missle wouldn't be all that simple. I imagine there is quite a lot of anti-missle technology etc...perhaps only on take-off and/or landing when the plane is so close to ground the technology couldn't "react" quick enough.
That said, I would also think Af-1 landing and takeoff zones are pretty well protected from the ground each and every time it takes off and lands.
Lets hope it never happens no matter who is in the oval-office. The country would deal with it, but it would be painful.
