I interviewed a storm-chasing photographer who's been paying attention. Everything he hears from the bigwigs is the important thing is to work to adapt.

People who have lots of money will make the switch much easier. Condos are going up across the downtowns of America; for what other reason would someone who could afford to spend $500k + on a home choose to live in areas that are still "transitional" with high crime rates?

Then you have the Bush family, spending untold millions to own a chunk of land on top of an aquifer.
