Time: On how the Bush White House viewed the Clinton team's approach to terrorism:
Cheney: "There was the sense that they hadn't handled it very well."

Time: On whether an apology for failing to prevent Sept. 11 is necessary:
(Note: Cheney never gives a direct answer to this question. He throws in an obligatory "There are clearly some things that could have been done to be more effective. Whether or not there was a way to forecast what was going on here and head it off, I just don't know. Obviously, I think everybody feels bad about the loss of life" and that's it).

So, rating the story on the Frankenstein Scale, we have:

Fire = bad
Bread = good
Condi = good
Clarke = bad
3,000 Americans dying in the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil when potentially the President and his administration were both adequately warned and did nothing about it while vacationing in Crawford = "I dunno." (It's not good, it's not bad, but it's not the Bush administration's fault).

Thanks for the update, Evil Dick!
