6. THAT one sure makes them look silly...
Howard Dean is no more--nor no less--powerful than any other Dem. candidate in the race. Too powerful for whom? The Occupied West Wing? I'd hazard to guess that several of our candidates would fit in that category. The DLC leadership? My feelings--from an erstwhile DLC supporter, by the way--about their current attitudes are well-documented. Since it's very likely that someone other than their "favorite son" is going to get the nomination next year, they need to get with the program on several levels...and fast.

Dr. Dean still needs to do some refinement of his message and how he sends it, but his popularity is not an accident--and if he can find a way to consistently reach the "swing" voter, neither would his getting the nomination, nor having a realistic chance of unseating Dub next year, be an accident.
