... it's not so far-fetched. There was a single source article (and the story promptly died) that the claim that Iraq could have WMDs deployed in 45-minutes came from the US, even though the administration said in Sept. 2002 that the information came from British intelligence.

If one thinks about the time frame of that story, in the context of what is now known about Allawi (that he was the source for that completely false allegation), and then think back on when Allawi divorced himself from MI6 and began to work for the CIA, then it becomes obvious that Allawi was a CIA asset well before the 45-minute charge became public.

So, from whence did the information come? The UK, or the US?
