18. Love it--let's see the themes picked up by Kerry
I like that the article pulls together big themes and looks at the big picture. The news and talk show outlets, and many of us, focus the faux pas of the day, the current court rulings, the current whistleblower, the latest wrong-headed military decision, etc.. We don't see the forest for the trees. Gore's article says that the trees are infested with bark beetle and the forest is on fire.

I think the Kerry campaign would do well to eventually hit on the big picture. He can talk about the great individual programs and ideas he has but he should at some point in the campaign show us that he agrees the forest is on fire and that there are some big, big problems with this administration. Gore clearly has the details and big picture firmly in his grasp. Bush has neither. Kerry clearly can handle the details and we've only gotten a glimpse of Kerry's big picture awareness when off mike he said that "these guys are the biggest bunch of crooked liars I've ever seen."
