5. What battle for re-election?
Bush said that troops could expect to be in Iraq for another year.

That has them coming home around middle to late August, 2004.
Then you have their GOP nominating convention in September to exploit 9/11 (as though they haven't done that enough already), then you have the anniversary of 9/11. After that, maybe they will announce that they have captured another member of Al Quaeda (wouldn't matter if its the lowest ranking, newest member, they will play it up like he was bin Laden's #2 guy).

The point is, the public will be too stupid, frightened, and in awe of their great protector to notice that:
Unemployment is up
Thousands of jobs have been lost
They haven't seen a dime of Bush's (fill in number between 2 and 10) tax cuts for the rich
We have not brought those responsible for 9/11 to justice
The government has failed to produce WMD or Saddam Hussein
They no longer can afford health care

It goes on and on.
