6. Yes a partisan issue. Some freeper responses to fixing social security
Reform of SS will also do more for family values than almost anything else. The SS system sets young against old, instead of families working together for their future.

---

You cannot support 55 million people with 130 million working individuals. Social security payments are just BIG government welfare to ease the conscience of social liberals at the expense of the working people. It is also the biggest vote-buying scheme in history.

---

Well, the SS sharing agreement that Bush wants with Mexico helps speed along the bankrupcy of the SS system, so yes SS is tied into the illegal debate.

---

SS is going bankrupt because its very nature is to go bankrupt. To keep it solvent will require increasing amounts of energy. That increase will never stop. Get rid of it. If you do it now, you harm less. If you do it later, you harm more.

---

We only thought the 'rat election year methods were disgusting and not in America's interest. Social Security is their god, an idol they created. They will not allow it to be debauched by GOP barbarians. If Iraq doesn't blow up in his face, and Bush pulls off real SS reform, history will remember him as one of our greatest Presidents.
