25. I'm one of the newbies here...
...though I've been lurking at DU for almost a year. I was going to join around the November election but there were too many disruptors and traffic so I signed up after I went through a month of anger over Chimp's Ohio theft and decided it was time to go public with the truth. It's alot better than sulking in silence.

The positive thing about the Democrat party is we embrace tolerance and come in all shapes and sizes, unlike the narrow-minded homophobic bigoted right-wing. Too many good people are assumed to be "right-wing disturbors" because they may not agree with you or I on every issue. I cast a write-in vote for Nader, but I did so because I was in a SAFE Kerry state (Illinois) where he would have won no matter what. Obviously Kerry would be better than Chimp, and if I was in a "swing-state" I would have voted for the guy -- but that doesnt' change the fact I was upset with the Dems for nominating a guy who rolled over so easily.

As for the FreakRepublic disturtors, they are easy to spot. Any time you see a "Democrat" arguing we have to "embrace" anti-choice, xenophobic, "Christian" values to "win", I'd bet my left hand that person is NO Democrat. If you monitor the Zell Miller luvin' crowd at FreakRepublic, you can spot their agenda a mile away.

Here's to many years to come on DU! :pals:
