They will bring chaos and devastation to the world in a misguided attempt to spread democracy and save us all. Yes, they are that crazy. And there is that presidential legacy thing.

The December '04 issue of The Atlantic Monthly has an excellent article on the wisdom of invading, attacking, bombing Iran. They set up a mini "war game" guided by a retired colonel who did this sort of think at the National War College. The sum of it is that we must make diplomacy work. None of their scenarios were viable, just like the ones done before the Iraq invasion. Same story, different country.
