The entire Reagan presidency was a promotion of these same ideals; materialism with religious pretense, a sort of self-righteous selfishness. I'm not sure what Rove was like back then, but he may even be a product of that time, to some degree. Homelessness went way up as the rich convinced these conservative dumbasses to help them destroy the middle class and punish the poor, all under the facade of good Christian values and John Wayne black hat/white hat binary simplicity. What we have today isn't new, it's a more successful sequel. I just can't believe how many people are stupid and gullible enough to buy it. Personally, I hate all the fucking traitors.
