9. selective reading of history
Although I was not a big Clinton fan, I recall the Clinton adminstration being very concerned about terrorism and the Republican Congress screaming, "Wag the Dog, Wag the Dog," whenever it was raised. During these dates in question, every fucking committee and subcommittee chairperson in both houses of Congress scrambled to get some face time as they launched their own investigation into Clinton's penis. I think even the House Agriculture sub-sub-sub-Committee on soybeans found some pretext to subpoena Monica Lewinsky.
