I don't think that's ever been the case--he's always been the more likeable and telegenic mouthpiece for Cheney, who's actually running the country, God help us. What I think is getting to Bush--and I've noticed this about him in the past--is that reality isn't cooperating with his agenda. I think Bush has so believed the (obvious) myth of his own infallibility that it's almost impossible for him to accept that none of his bold PNAC-inspired initiatives have worked out according to plan. It must suck, on some profound level, to realize that everything you've ever touched has turned to shit.
