243. CAN THIS BE STRESSED IN THE RULES
Make the title of a thread as descriptive as possible.

Starting a thread is time consuming, if you have something you want to share that you think is important, and you want to set it up properly with excerpts, links, etc. Then to find that someone has started one already, but under an obscure title that made it impossible for you to know it was about what you want to talk about, then to have the thread you worked on get locked, is a drag.

I look through sometimes as many as 8 pages of threads before posting a new one to make sure it's not a dupe. But if the existing thread has an obscure title, how am I supposed to know it's about what I want to post? And worse yet, lots of people might have passed by the obscurely titled thread who would have been interested, if they knew what it was about. So the only chance to talk about something gets passed by.
