2. it does seem ominous
some no-brainers have gone the wrong way in Alabama and now California. WTF is wrong with this country? I do not know that much about California, but it would seem that the vehicle tax was a bad idea, and also regressive. It is hard to raise taxes on the wealthy with a Republican legislature.
I am 50% Kraut so I think living in Deutschland would be way cool. Plus, they have better unemployment insurance, more time off from work, and higher wages. I guess jobs are hard to find, and so are Cokes. The part of Schwabia that I visited is loaded with bike paths, and I found the same thing in the Siegwald.
I like Austrians though, and I like Arnold too - as an actor. He did not campaign as a Nazi, but as a compassionate populist, a reformer. Perhaps he shows that people like the idea of reform even if the person selling it has no substance. Especially when he is unchallenged in the mainstream media. God forbid anyone challenge this icon to provide any specifics.
To me it once again shows that jocks rule. I should have spent more time taking steroids in school and less time reading. I also expect that, like Ventura, he will be exposed as the arrogant moron that he is. Then again, the previous moronic actor was a two term governor.
