10. Hispanics Are Not a Block
In countries from Mexico through the Carribean through South America there are rich wingnut classes and poor "Liberal" classes. It's mostly economics not culture or Hispanicity that decides the politics.

Also, it's a wingnut talking point of conventional wisdom to say that, because Hispanics are supposedly strong in "family values", this means they are natural "Conservatives" in the sense of American politics. Actually, they are similar to the "lapsed Catholic" phenomenon----going through the motions of ritual in the basics of getting their children baptized and such, but ignoring the wingnut dogma of anti-choice. There is room for bawdiness, extra-maritalism, and other things contradictory to strait laced "family values"----so long as a basic discretion is observed.

Wingnutism in Hispanics is evident in both the wingnut military dictatorships and in small (or large) business people----just like U.S. wingnutism.
