14. Well before Nola
in our own country we were cutting any help to the poor and the hungry and the sick. The working poor are especially screwed, often getting no insurance and the government doesn't care. Medicaid keeps being cut.

Food stamps keep getting harder to get. We have ever more captives and while they are captive we offer nothing that will help them when they are set free.

We put hard working people in the position of begging when we fall on hard times but they can beg all they want really, the government isn't moved.

Those stranded by Katrina were captive too and surely felt abandoned. They were.

Yet bush is right, we did use to be more that kind of country but since he has come in we move further and further away.
