after what he did to them in 2000.

All right, I understand that when you lose, you move on. I've known politics my whole life (I'm 53). I just lost an election myself a month ago.

But McCain was slandered in South Carolina in March of '00 by Bush and Rove. They insulted his wife, bringing up shit that is over the line in any body's book. Do you remember, Senator McCain. It went like this. Bush supporters push-polled by asking SC Republicans this question, "Who do support for President in the upcoming Republican primary, Governor Bush of Texas, or Senator McCain of Arizona?" If the respondent said Bush, the caller said thank you, ended the call, and put them in the "get out the vote" column. If the respondent said "McCain" or "undecided", the questioner asked, "how does the fact that Senator McCain is the father of a black child affect your choice?" You see, Senator McCain and his wife adopted a child from Bangladesh, a fact that the caller would not mention. This was less then a week before the election. They planted questions about McCain's being unable to handle the "pressure" because of his captivity during Viet Nam, and stories about his wife and drugs. How the F*ck can a man of any self-esteem continue to pull a guy's chestnuts out of the fire after subjecting him and his family to those type of lies, innuendo, and slander. How, I ask you?

Next, comes Senator Lieberman. Here's a guy who should be Vice-President of the United States today. He knows he was cheated. Does anyone think for a moment that if the Supreme Court didn't halt the counting in Florida, Gore and Lieberman wouldn't have made up the 535 votes? Senator Lieberman knows that our system is 51 different state elections and the federal government has no jurisdiction in counting state ballots, so long as everyone's civil rights are protected. If the Supreme Court entered at all, it was in disenfranchising the minorities in Florida under the federal voting rights act. But the actual counting and decisions on voter intent are the state's rights.

I know that bye-gones are bye-gones, but these injustices should be hard to swallow, especially by the principles involved. What I can't understand, is even if you can find forgiveness in your heart, how the F*ck do you stand up and lie for the guy? That's what I don't get. How do you become the chief ball washer, one in the Republican party, the other in the Democratic, after experiencing, first hand, his and his cronies dastardly lust for power. I don't get it.

Please, please can someone explain?
