But I'm still of the opinion that this was a coordinated effort by the WHIG. By having so many people involved in both naming Ms. Plame and her role within the CIA as well as being confirming sources for the journalists involved could also well be used to promote the notion that Ms. Plame's name and job was well known within Washington. I'm still of the opinion that they knew Novak would have no problem using Ms. Plame's name and reporting it as her being a CIA operative. It's my belief that they also knew that once that info hit the streets then every body and their brother would then try to scoop everyone else as to just what Ms. Plame's role within the CIA was. They (WHIG) threw the ball onto the court and then let everyone else fight for possession. They knew that it wouldn't take long for the connection of Ms. Plame to Brewster-Jennings would be made and the added benefit of having a CIA operation that, quite possibly, was getting in their way being effectively neutered.
