9. Panelists made a good point
People liked him because of what they thought he was. Now that he is toeing the line all the time he is no longer what they thought he was.

He didn't even sound knowledgeable about this spying issue and was saying ~It was wrong maybe but if it was the Democrats have a lot of explaining to do and it wasn't wrong unless it was.

Very, very few I have seen are defending bush, even the conservative panelists. They aren't spinning. He broke the law for no reason, he has authority already to start it without a subpoena as long as he takes it to the judge in 72 hours. The judges are secret and keep it secret. There is no excuse.
Unlike McCain most knew congress who did learn were told, not asked. They didn't authorize it, many objected and they couldn't speak to anyone about it, it was classified.

Also that revealing it didn't damage anything. Bad guys knew they could be monitored already. bush just did it illegally.

The Democrats are all speaking strongly but I was surprised that panelists were too. Lindsey Graham, JAG officer in him showing, spoke strongly against it. Much better on this and on torture issue then McCain.
