I know he's wiccan, so when I started to say "Merry Christmas" I corrected myself and switched it to "Happy Solstice, or whatever you do" He said that yeah, he doesn't really do Christmas, but it was nice to get stuff anyway.

In fact, he used the twenty I sent him for Christmas/Solstice to go out last night to the corner bar, where he happily reported that he found both gay and straight folks. Being bi and from California, I don't imagine he was expecting that in Dayton.

I still felt like a dweeb. My only defense was that I hadn't had my coffee yet.

But at least the kid sounds pretty good. I announced in the lounge a while back that he has AIDS. I think he's doing pretty well physically and mentally at the moment. His family wants him to go on disability, but he wants to work and earn his keep.

Eh, I still need coffee.... blah....
